Gladkill & Gyouro

I already featured Gladkill earlier today, but I couldn’t help throwing this mix up too. It features the talented production and DJ skills of Boris Gladkill and Gyouro with all new tracks by both artists. The mix is by no means new at this point, however it is free, excellent, and a great sample of both artists. Swing over to Gladkill’s SoundCloud and grab your copy today!

Gladkill

“Siberian born, New York raised producer and musician Boris G has been writing and performing as Gladkill since 2007. Drawing from years of musical experimenting with many genres and instruments, Gladkill combines several elements of electronic music to craft his signature sound. Gladkill can best be described as a combination of melodic IDM hip hop fused with bass-heavy rhythms reminiscent of the “Acid Crunk” and Dubstep sound. Gladkill has been seen performing with such Electronic acts as R/D, Eprom, Mux Mool, Martyparty, Mimosa, Lazer Sword, and others. “Everything inspires me. Silence is my canvas. Follow, listen, enjoy, share.”” – Boris Gladkill

In anticipation of the release of the Ghostwork Mixtape, Gladkill released a Ghostwork Promo Mix, which is absolute fire. Good on the dance floor, good for chilling. If you like it swing by and pick up the album, the quality of the downloads is so much higher and if you appreciate awesome bass coupled with beautiful melodies, Gladkill is for you. Any upcoming artist with the support of R/D is sure to be amazing, but Gladkill doesn’t need the support to prove his mettle… Yet another great producer whose musical talent speaks for itself.

Thriftworks

Thriftworks aka Jake Atlas (SF) just released a free 20 track album titled “Hermetic Thriftology”. Not only is the album free, it’s an absolute must-have from the 2010 electronic/bass movement. Thriftworks‘ style is a unique blend of dubby noises, hip hop beats, and some groovy left-field vibes. The album covers a wide spectrum of style and emotion and really has something unique and beautiful to offer anyone.

In my previous feature of An-Ten-Nae, you may have already heard a sample of Thriftworks work in the Rook remix of Jakes “Get the Lectroid” on the Acid Crunk Volume 3 compilation album. Thriftworks is on the verge of something big, and you should all take this chance to participate in it!

Check out these highlights from Hermetic Thriftology and if you like them swing by his BandCamp and download the album in 320 for free!

Thriftwork Track on Acid Crunk Vol 3

Curious about the name Thriftwork? “Jake rocks Logic 9, his homie’s Virus synth, borrowed monitors, an organ he found in a parking garage, a borrowed piece of shit turntable, and cables and records that he found at thriftstores or on street corners. Hence the name “Thriftworks” came about because he realized most of his gear was either borrowed or found. As he says, everything else comes used from Craigslist!” – IAMLASER Blog Feature

An-Ten-Nae

An*Ten*Nae is one of San Francisco’s most sought after DJs and live performers. He has taken the art of live remixing to new heights with his own customized setup, that bends genres in ways seldom heard. This sound is called Acid Crunk, and there are no rules, no restraints in its quest for a pure sound that is not Homogenized. 2010 also sees the birth of An*Ten*Nae “The Live Experience”, featuring an audio visual barrage including live drums and synths combined with dramatic theatrical and visual stimulation. Welcome to the future, and no it wont be televised.” – AN-TEN-NAE  SoundCloud

In the recent past An-Ten-Nae has put out two new albums, their original/remix album Acid Crunk EP 7, and of course the well-publicized exclusive compilation album Acid Crunk Volume 3. Both of these albums are well worth the purchase, and if the total album cost is too much, you can always get the individual tracks that really strike a chord with you. I’d be more than happy to reccomend a few favorites: Priceless, Get The Lectroid, and Funkin Lovely. The whole album is great though and really does a wonderful job giving an overview of who is rocking the scene at the moment. Yet another job well done by Muti Music superstar An-Ten-Nae.

Acid Crunk Volume 3:

  • Soom T & Disrupt – Dirty Money (An-ten-nae Remix)
  • Professor Nalepa vs It’s Not Over Quebec – Unrest
  • Thriftworks – Get The Lectroid (Rook Remix)  **(Great Track)
  • Knight Riderz – Turn It Up
  • Marty Party – Sassy
  • An-ten-nae – So High
  • Lorn – Toilet
  • Lunice – Solution
  • Love & Light – Funkin Lovely  (GREAT track)
  • Blunt Instrument – Battle Toad
  • Mimosa – Customs
  • Sidecar Tommy – Bump Box
  • Random Rab – The Desert Flux
  • Opiuo & Jay Wikid – Panty Slingshot
  • NastyNasty – Priceless    *** Possibly favorite song on the album
  • FuzZ – Doom

Also, check out the AN-TEN-NAE  SoundCloud for lots of free downloads. His newest free track is his remix of MIA’s “Steppin Up”, which is part of Acid Crunk EP7, give it a listen  and if you like it swing by and pick up the album!
