+Verb: Xmas 2010 Mini-Mix (All Original)

I have to hand it to +verb, he is insanely prolific and all of his tracks are of the highest quality. +Verb tries to produce a track every day, and is one of those artists that has a library so full of unreleased tracks that he could play a set for as long as the time slot allowed. Many people would say that quality is preferable over quantity, but how can you complain when an artist is constantly putting out tracks, and each one is better than the last?

If you are a fan of +verb, or even if you haven’t heard any of his tracks yet, this +Verb Mini-Mix is one of the absolute necessities of 2010. I have been waiting for weeks for this release, and I must say that it did not disappoint in the slightest. Every track +verb produces is imbued with a part of him that makes it easily recognizable as his own, and frankly, most of his remixes end up as significantly better than the original. If you are looking for artists to follow as a prime example of someone leading and defining the movement, +verb is a perfect choice.

This MiniMix, a free gift from +verb to all of us as an early christmas present, is a perfect sample of the extroardinary work produced by this amazing artist. Many of his recent highlights are featured on the album, including Maltodextrin and his recent collaborations with Stephan Jacobs and Richard Sweat. Give it up for +Verb and check out all his new material, especially the MiniMix, it should keep you dancing long into 2011!

Ben Samples: DBS 3 Year Anniversary Set

Here he is being featured yet again, the exceptionally prolific Ben Samples. Last Friday I went to the DBS 3 year anniversary event at City Hall in Denver, and Samples, the new head of the Denver Bass Squad, played an absolutely killer set during dinner. The event started off with a Potluck during which Willy Whompa and Samples set the mood of the event. Taking a break from his usual dance-floor slayers, Samples toned down his set to create the perfect eating environment. If you want to support DBS, hear some new tracks by the Legendary Ben Samples, or simply have a set to play while chilling around the house, check out the new Samples live set!

R/D: Forward Slash Mixtape

As I have said in my previous R/D Feature, R/D is someone who never releases anything short of brilliant. His most recent EP, Faces of God, is an absolute work of art. He has been doing his thing for over a decade, and at this point he is damn good at it. As of today, R/D has announced that a new album is in the works, and has released an epic mixtape to give us a taste of what is to come.

Forward Slash does everything that a good mixtape should. It highlights favorites by R/D, gives the listener an exclusive taste of 2 unreleased tracks from the upcoming album, and skillfully remixes old classics into a stellar new composition. The new Forward Slash 2010 Mixtape is available for free in all file-formats at the R/D BandCamp and is an absolute MUST-DOWNLOAD for those fans of the legendary R/D; get it while it’s HOT!

Floatin’ Ocean

All that is known about this mysterious artist is that he is known by the name Jabber Wockey, resides in Venice, Italy, and produces seductively delicious tracks under the name Floatin’ Ocean. He classifies his new Atlantis EP as “Floatcore”, and if you would like to try sample before the album release on November 23, Floatin’ Ocean has been so kind as to give us a Atlantas EP Promo Mixtape.

Ali Berger aka The Woof

“Ali Berger is a producer and DJ from Princeton, NJ. His music is sometimes chilled out, sometimes heavy, but always glitchy, electronic, and above all, funky. His live shows incorporate on-the-fly mashups and remixes of music ranging from dubstep to glitch-hop to breakbeat, plus versions of his own tunes re-arranged live and cut together with other tracks. You can catch him rocking shows around New Jersey and Boston, and his first EP, Departures, dropped for free on June 1st, 2010.” – Ali Berger

Today I had the pleasure to meet upcoming DJ/Producer Ali Berger aka The Woof. I was looking for some old releases by +Verb and Ali was the person who ended up helping me out. He notified me that he would be playing tomorrow on BASSTREAM RADIO on GLITCH.FM.

He also directed me to a mix of his from a previous radio show. You should all give it a listen!
